Ιcon Greece participates in the Erasmus Youth project “Cultural heritage as a path in migrants inclusion”. “Cultural heritage as a path in migrants inclusion” is an ERASMUS+ program which include 2 mobilities, 1 training course in Greece and 1 youth exchange in Cyprus.
The multicultural environment of Cyprus and other

countries highlights the peaceful coexistence of people with different cultural identities. The use of cultural heritage as an educational tool can help to deal with societal issues in order to bring people living in Europe closer and promote multiculturalism dialogue.
This project “Cultural heritage as a path in migrants inclusion” will bring together people from 4 different European countries (Cyprus, Greece, Romania and Hungary) in program of activities on cultural heritage and traditions, to improve European citizenship, youth participation and transnational unity. The main objective of this KA1 has been to deepen the knowledge of European cultural heritage, trying to understand the differences and common origins of different EU countries, focusing on the interrelation of different traditions that made the EU one of the most heterogeneous cribs and rich of the world. The project will include 2 activities. One training course for 20 youth workers in Greece (26/4/2022-2/5/2022) as well a youth exchange with 40 participants in Cyprus (12/7/2022-20/7/2022). Young people familiarize the historical-economic-social context of the countries and link cultural-religious findings to the present day. They also critically read about the monuments, understand the cultural and humanitarian aspect of religions and they justify religious, theological and political motives behind the inspiration of art creators. Through this project participants discover their peers’ cultural and religious heritage. The objectives of the partnership is to improve learning environment for refugee young people, to build a culture of welcome for all people providing general pedagogical tools for
youth workers and other professionals accessible in several languages online. The aim is to enhance the understanding of young people for the important role they play in interpreting the diversity of the “other” through a holistic approach of diversity by studying personal needs and desires.

Objectives
-To bring young people closer to nature, cultural traditions. To get to know for their own and other European countries their cultural heritage and how they can keep it alive and deliver it to the new generations.
-To empower young people to give the opportunity to participants with fewer opportunities, facing economical, geographical, social obstacles, refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants to learn new cultures, to be included in a group and improve their employability skills.
-To promote inclusion of people with disadvantaged backgrounds, including newly arrived migrants.
-To promote common European values, foster social integration, enhance intercultural understanding and a sense of belonging to the community and to prevent violent radicalization

-To promote Erasmus plus program and its outcomes – Youth pass and competences acquirement, support the network of NGO and organizations active in the youth field.
